Background
Inspired by the stunning Rice Terraces of the Philippines, I sought to capture their layered natural architecture in my design. Balancing the terraces’ essence with visual appeal and functionality was challenging, but a breakthrough came when I envisioned the table as a composition of layered elements, mirroring the terraces themselves. This led to the creation of two complementary tables: a sturdy inner table and an adjustable outer table, combining flexibility with structural support. The result is a functional, versatile piece that reflects the beauty and ingenuity of the rice terraces.
