Transitioning to Sustainable, Premium Packaging

For Interflora, I was tasked with redesigning the packaging for a partner supplier’s gift-box products (Finsmakarna Norden) which were originally shipped in cheap, gold-colored plastic - a look that conflicted with Interflora’s premium brand image and growing push toward sustainability.

The challenge was to replace that plastic packaging with a solution that felt elegant, premium, but also aligned with eco-friendly values. My goal was to deliver new packaging that elevated the perceived value of the contents (tea, chocolate, oils, specialty items) while reflecting Interflora’s commitment to sustainable, high-quality presentation.

As industrial designer on this project (Jun 2021 – Aug 2021), I led the redesign: selecting sustainable materials, crafting a refined, multi-material packaging solution, redesigning labels/visual identity for the box, and delivering a final result that strengthened brand perception and achieved a measurable +10% sales increase.
